About Me
Hello!
My name is Debra Jennings. I am a Registered Nurse and Licensed Massage Therapist offering Therapeutic Massage and Integrated Body Work in the Town of Bedford, Virginia.
Before choosing me as your Massage Therapist, please take a moment to learn a little about me:
As early as I can remember, I have taken responsibility for the care of both family members and pets. I have been in the medical field most of my life, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1991 while in High School.
After high school I attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre to pursue my passion for riding and training horses. Upon graduating in 1993, with a Riding Masters III, I worked at a couple of breeding farms and also freelanced in both teaching riding and training horses.
Unable to stay out of the healthcare field long, I took a diploma course to become a Dental Assistant in 1999. Wanting to continue in this field, I then applied to the Dental Hygiene program at Virginia Western Community College. Knowing that space was limited, I also applied to the Registered Nurse program which I was accepted into.
I have an Associates in Applied Science Degree in Nursing, and I have been licensed and practicing as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2003. For 19 years I have worked in neuro-trauma care in both ICU and private duty settings. Since the beginning of 2022 my focus has been on working full time in hospice care.
Since becoming a nurse, I has marveled at the human body's innate ability to heal itself. Wanting to understand this more, I have trained in and am certified as an Usui Ryoho Reiki 1st & 2nd Degree Practitioner, 2013; an Usui/Holy Fire Ryoho Reiki Master, 2014; a Registered Holy Fire II Karuna Reiki® Master, 2015; and a Chikara-Reiki-Do Master, 2015.
Always wanting to learn more and add tools to my health care tool box, I spent three years training in Acupressure Mastery (2016), Meridian Therapy (2017), Qi-Gong and the Five Elements (2018) with renowned acupressurist Dr. Michael Reed-Gach.
As of 2019, I have completed a state approved Massage Therapy program through Dabney S Lancaster Community College and am Licensed to practice as a Massage Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
I look forward to continuing to learn and develop new skills and techniques to better serve my clientele in their quest for health and wellness.
I am a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, American Massage Therapists Association, International Center for Reiki Training and Reiki Healing Association.
